Saturday Paddle RoKT to Brighouse

The inaugurall paddle from RoKT site to Battye ford was undertaken by 17 intrepid paddlers last Saturday. The group thought they were paddling 4.5miles(approx) and 5 weirs/drops, the route was probably closer to 6 miles but the afternon was utterly fantastic and will certainly become regular part if the program. The new paddlers were great bunch, great company.

Big thanks to Mark for leading the way from ROKT Climbing Gym to Battyeford this afternoon, ably assisted by David, John and Smiler.

If you intrested in taking part this Saturday get down to RoKT for 1pm, check ouit the club calender for details. http://www.penninecanoeclub.org.uk/?p=981

New Site at Mirfield is taking Shape

If you haven’t seen on facebook there has been a lot of work at Battyeford. Following agreeing access and securing £12,500 we have started to build the landing stage.

We hope to have the landing stage finishes to enable sessions to take place over the summer.

We are going to install three containers on site one for rowing, one for racing, and one for polo and recreation.

The rowing section is rapidly Gathering a fleet of rowing boats thanks to generous donations from clubs across the country and British Rowing.

Polo Players have started to plan installing training facilities on sites.

All in all there is a lot of work being done to create a top class facility worthy of the club and region.
