Club Committee

2020-2021 Membership

If you’re new to Pennine, please arrange to come along as a Prospective Member as we are always happy for people to take a look before committing to membership.

For insurance reasons, everyone routinely taking part in Pennine activities needs to be a Member – but we have no wish to make this a barrier to getting involved.

  • Full Adult – £40
  • Junior (Under 18) – £20
  • Family – £60

Family Membership covers parents / guardians and their children.

By joining the club as a full member you have the following benefits:-

  • Access to events and a significant discount.
  • Access to additional support from coaches
  • Availability of equipment
  • Club insurance
  • Able to represent the club in competitions
  • …and more!

Most importantly your support helps the development of our club and access to alternative funding streams.

Joining

Our club membership is separate from British Canoeing membership – but we do manage our membership through the National Governing Body’s website.

If you are a member of British Canoeing first sign up for free https://www.britishcanoeing.org.uk/sign-up-free-here-today

Once you have an account sign in https://britishcanoeing.azolve.com/Account.mvc/Login?ReturnUrl=%2f and select Penninecrc as you club.

You can sign all the family up for free whether you are a paddling or none paddling member. We’ve created a short video to help.

For paddling members pay fees at a club session or by bank transfer.

Session Fees

At the AGM we agreed revised session fees to encourage and support both occasional and regular paddlers. Fees can be paid at the session or bank transfer.

Outdoor Sessions

For now we ask members for £5 (adult) and £3 (junior) when using club boats and kit at our regular outdoor sessions.

We invite those with their own boats and kit to make a voluntary donation and have been suggesting £2 / visit.

Non-members will be invited to contribute £12 (adult) and £8 (junior) but this will be held as a contribution to membership – after 4 sessions all membership dues will have been paid.

Pool Sessions

For members, Tuesdays at the pool are £10 (adult) and £6 (junior), non-member rate is £12 (adult) or £8 (junior).

Saturday sessions at Dewsbury Swimming Pool are set by Kirklees Active Leisure and are discounted for those with a KAL Card (http://www.kal.org.uk/flexi-card). The maximum is ~ £6 / head.
